Happy Thanksgiving!

This is what Thanksgiving dinner did to my kids...
... or was it Aunt Jenny?

actually, they do this every night between 7:30 and 8:00 p.m.!

My favorite part is Joshua running in and out in the back. :)

How do you Christmas shop?

Adam and Joshua fell asleep yesterday while Michael and I were "Christmas looking."  Once they were out, we started "Christmas shopping."  Not shown is Miss Olivia in a third shopping cart with items to purchase.  (Emily and Miriam were at school)

Animal quilt pictures

About 18 months ago, I wanted to learn to quilt.  My Relief Society had a class on quilting.  Our patterns were from the civil war era and the fabric replicas were muted colors. I decided if I was going to make a quilt, it had to have a purpose, and our need at the time was a quilt for Adam. None of the fabric I saw that was meant for the project looked like a little boy. That's when I got the idea to use bright animal prints instead. As I started sewing the blocks, I decided why not make two quilts and have one for Joshua as well.  

I finally finished putting them together, and my friend, Celeste Henderson, machine quilted them.

My sister, the photographer

I keep telling my sister, Jenny, that she should become a photographer. She loves to take pictures, and always takes hundreds of pictures of my kids when she comes to visit - even if it is only for a few hours. Here are some shots she took of the kids when she came over today.

Miss Miriam asked her aunt Jenny to take a picture of her and then posed like this as she waited for Jenny to take it:

Joshua is looking up at the camera as if he was supposed to! When he sees my camera he runs towards me instead of staying still. Love those dimples!

Last, but not least... my stubborn Emily who did not want her picture taken at all today. When she did let Jenny photograph her, Emily insisted on a picture with her toes in her mouth. I haven't been able to bend like that since I was her age!

Great job Jenny - on these and the other 96 pictures you added to "My Pictures" this afternoon.

Row, row, row your boat

Olivia's brothers like to sit in her bouncy seat when I'm not looking. They weigh a LOT more than Olivia, and I think this has caused her seat to recline more than it should. I was holding Olivia last night and decided to lay her in her bouncy seat but she wanted to be upright. We compromised, and she got to sit in the bouncy seat instead of being stuck on her back. Sitting is new for Olivia, so I stayed right there to catch her if she fell over. The sides actually helped her stay sitting for a long time.

It looks to me like she is sitting in a little boat. All she needs are oars...

...and water.

Firsts for Olivia

Look closely and you will see the light glare off Olivia's first TWO bottom teeth! I discovered them yesterday morning.


Babies are so cute when they sleep. When I look at her, I just say, "Ohh." (I Sure wish some little bodies in this house would think that when their mother is sleeping instead of shaking me, and poking my eyes out.)




This is Olivia's first taste of vegetables. Banana squash from dad's garden.

I love this look that seems to say, "you're kidding, right?"

Most of the squash came right back out, but for the first try, she did great. After all, anything is better than rice cereal glue.
